HW: 

  • Finish the Complete the Nature v. Nurture paper.  It is due next class.  To receive credit, it must be 100% complete, typed, and in MLA format.  It must meet all of the requirements outlined in the prompt (including the minimum length requirement of 3 full typed pages. You must also bring a copy of your works cited page 

Agenda and Homework for Monday, 3/18

  • Discuss the Nature v. Nurture argument paper and review requirements and expectations
    • First Draft is due Friday, 3/22 .  It must be at least 3 full typed pages and 100% complete to receive credit.  You must also include a works cited page (which does not count toward the required length of the paper). 
    • Final Draft is due via turnitin.com by 8 p.m. Tuesday, 3.26.  The works cited page must be included as the final page of the document before you upload. 

  • FATt sentence- use to introduce each new source in your paper

    • A- Author
    • T- Title
    • t- text type (article, novel, poem, etc.)

1.  Review and discuss articles 3 and 4 from the Nature v. Nurture packet

2.  Read and annotate article #6 “In an Adoptee’s Words”

3.  Complete Logos, Ethos, Pathos questions on a separate sheet of paper (work with a partner)

4.  Return Animal Transformation Essays

·         Review “anchor” papers

·         Complete the essay reflection

·         Reflection activity (handout) to be completed at home.  It is due next class. 

HW: 

  • Read and annotate article #5 “Hoarding, hand-washing and obsessive checking: Which of these is not like the others?” and complete the Logos, Ethos, Pathos questions on a separate sheet of paper.
  • Finish the rhetorical analysis packet (Logos, Ethos, Pathos questions for articles #1-6).  It is due next class, as are your article annotations.

·         Quick write: After Merlyn tells Arthur that he will come again because he is The Once and Future King, Arthur wonders what future generations will remember about him and his Round Table.  He asks Merlyn, “‘What sort of people will they be?’” (White 287).  Based on your knowledge of Arthur’s character, what do you think Arthur would think of the modern world?  What would he think about the United States?  What sort of people are we?  Explain.  (one page minimum). 

4.      Read and annotate chap. 12-13

5.      Work on Book II questions and Orkney Brothers chart

HW:

Pay attention to:

o   How Arthur ignores the knightly code of war in chapter 12

o   Purpose of the spancel and what it is
