Agenda and Homework for Monday, 3/18

  • Discuss the Nature v. Nurture argument paper and review requirements and expectations
    • First Draft is due Friday, 3/22 .  It must be at least 3 full typed pages and 100% complete to receive credit.  You must also include a works cited page (which does not count toward the required length of the paper). 
    • Final Draft is due via turnitin.com by 8 p.m. Tuesday, 3.26.  The works cited page must be included as the final page of the document before you upload. 

  • FATt sentence- use to introduce each new source in your paper
    • F- Focus (theme, argument, main idea)
    • A- Author
    • T- Title
    • t- text type (article, novel, poem, etc.)

    • Review how to embed text. 
    • Review how to embed fiction versus nonfiction
  • Continue working on the shaping sheet for the essay.  It is due next class.
  • Review works cited resources:
    • WR Library webpage à“Research Process” tab à “MLA Samples and Samples” tab and/or “Easy Bib” and “BibMe"
    • Purdue OWL MLA webpage has numerous resources on MLA format, in-text citations, works cited page, etc.

HW: 

  • Complete the shaping sheet for the Nature v. Nurture paper.  To receive credit, it must be complete and all evidence must be embedded.
  • Work on the works cited  page
