o   Begin drafting thesis statements

o   Sample “chunk”

o   Distribute essay shaping sheet and begin working

HW:  

1. Revise thesis statement and bring your progress on the shaping sheet next class

2. Read chap. 41-end of Book III (Book III questions due Friday, 11/30)

o   Lancelot’s complexity as a character

          • The fate of Elaine (who’s to blame)
          • The issue with Sir Meliagrance and Guenever
          • Lancelot’s escape
          • The battle between Meliagrance and Lancelot (is it fair?)
          • The miracle in chapter 45 and Lancelot’s emotional reaction (VERY important)
