·         Read the last page of chapter 10 together. 

·         Quick write: After Merlyn tells Arthur that he will come again because he is The Once and Future King, Arthur wonders what future generations will remember about him and his Round Table.  He asks Merlyn, “‘What sort of people will they be?’” (White 287).  Based on your knowledge of Arthur’s character, what do you think Arthur would think of the modern world?  What would he think about the United States?  What sort of people are we?  Explain.  (one page minimum). 

4.      Read and annotate chap. 12-13

5.      Work on Book II questions and Orkney Brothers chart

HW:  

Read Book II chapters 12-13

Pay attention to:

o   How Arthur ignores the knightly code of war in chapter 12

o   Purpose of the spancel and what it is

o   What Merlyn does and does not warn/ tell Arthur about
